Meet my dear friend Chuck. Chuck is a Chucker Pheasant and he resides in Sacramento, CA in front of the hotel we stayed at for my daughter's soccer tournament several months ago. Hotel staff said he arrived one day and never left. He just hangs out front and greets hotel guests as they enter. He gets fed twice a day and has a pretty easy life. Every time we saw him we couldn't help but laugh. Chuck is the roundest bird I had ever seen! I decided to look up exactly what kind of bird Chuck was and put in "fat, rotund bird." The first entry I got was a Chucker Pheasant. I used old Chuck's photo for one of my Photo 6 projects which had to do with action shots hence the soccer tournament. Ironically, Chuck looks a lot like a soccer ball and I don't think he sees much action (I mean exercise....not what you may be thinking!). I wished I had changed the light setting on my camera but I was afraid he'd take off before I had the chance. I'm not a big fan of birds but I'll make an exception for this one. I could have never taken him home though, our cat is rather fond of birds and he would definitely think that he had won the lottery with ole Chuckster!
